Sugar - Adoption Pending!
"Hi, I'm Sugar, and I want to be your new BFF. When I'm not perfecting my critter patrol skills, I love following my humans around, making sure they never feel lonely."
This stunning girl came to our rescue from Baldwin County, AL where she was picked up as a stray. As hard to believe as this is, no one claimed this pretty girl so she is now ready to find her new forever home - maybe that will be with YOU!
We believe Sugar may be a Golden/Lab mix and is estimated to be about 1 year old. Our shelter advocate shared, "This sweet, sweet girl just loves to be right beside you and get all the loving she can!" And who wouldn't want to pet this lovely lady! Her fur is so incredibly soft and feels like the fur of a bunny rabbit. It is wonderfully plush and such a beautiful champagne color. When Sugar smiles, the whole room lights up and everyone smiles with her. Check out this pretty girl in her video.
Sugar has a little healing scar that may have happened when she was out on her own, but she shows no nervousness or fear. Everyone she encounters is a new friend, including other dogs. :-) She keeps her kennel clean and while we haven’t heard her bark yet, she brims over with affection. Such a sweetheart! Whoever adopts her will have a tail wagging companion who radiates joy!
Sugar is good with other dogs and has a very nice demeanor with age-appropriate energy. She walks fairly well on the leash too. Weighing in around 55 lbs, Sugar has been brought up-to-date on vaccinations, has been spayed, is heartworm negative, and has been microchipped. Sugar has been given a Proheart-6 injection for 6 months of heartworm prevention and is ready to meet her new family. She will be ready to come north in mid-May to be directly adopted. Please contact Cheryl if you are approved to adopt through SGRR. If not yet approved, please fill out an application.
Rescued dogs come with a range of needs - from behavioral to emotional to medical. When approved applicants adopt such dogs, they agree to continue the rehabilitation we have begun.
