Laihla - Adoption Pending!

Picked up as a stray in Fort Payne, AL, this girl is a true gem! The shelter director, who sees a lot of dogs come through their system, said "she is as sweet and perfect as can be, on top of being gorgeous!"
This stunning beauty has such a desire to love and be loved. She loves giving kisses to her humans, is great with other dogs, but is scared of cats! Laihla knows how to "sit" and "shake" with her paw - she had to have been someone's dog and it's a shame they didn't love her enough to look for her. But fear not, sweetie pie, we at SGRR will find you a home where you will always be cherished.
One of our southern volunteers shared some lovely details about Laihla, "She is extremely affectionate, sweet, and playful. She gets down on the ground and does that play-bow dog thing, her tail wagging all the time. She’s a cuddle bug too and will let me pet her and she loves that. Laihla has dark markings on her ears and they look like they’ve been dipped in paint. Her personality is warm and she’s very eager to play with a toy" as you can see in Laihla's video. Laihla has an age-appropriate energy level and would do well with walks, fetching, and playtime.
We believe Laihla may be a Golden Retriever/Husky mix with her beautiful, plush coat and stunning markings. Under all that fur is a dainty frame of 45 pounds. Laihla is estimated to be around 1 year old, is spayed, up-to-date on vaccinations, heartworm negative, and microchipped at the shelter. Laihla has been given a Proheart-6 injection for 6 months of heartworm prevention. Please contact Cheryl if you are approved to adopt through SGRR. If not yet approved, please fill out an application. Laihla will be ready to come north in early-to-mid March for direct adoption.
Rescued dogs come with a range of needs - from behavioral to emotional to medical. When approved applicants adopt such dogs, they agree to continue the rehabilitation we have begun.
