Harry

If you are looking for a buddy to spend you days and nights with, Harry is raising his paw and will gladly oblige! If a hike in the mountains is in your plans, he'll be right at your side. Or, if a day at the beach is more your style (if it ever gets warm again!), he's up for that too! Lazy days at home are fine for Harry as well, just as long as he is by your side!
Harry has a sleek, soft coat like that of a Lab and has amazing soulful eyes. He is your classic LL Bean type of dog! He is in the Northeast with a foster family and is ready to find his forever home. Harry's foster mom tells us that he is doing well and getting used to their routines. She shares, "he is doing fairly well on our walks and is very good around food. In fact, he is now very interested when I cook and likes kale stalks, carrots, and zucchini so far! He responds well to corrections and learns fast. One of Harry's best features is his eyes, they are beautiful and soulful." He has a healthy amount of age-appropriate energy and would love to be a part of an active family who likes to hike, run, and go on outdoor adventures with him.
Harry is good with other dogs and loves his foster sister and is so gentle with her (see video!) They love to play and romp as well. He is very friendly and affectionate to the humans he meets, and is good with cats too! Plus, he is super handsome!
Harry, who weighs about 60 lbs, is estimated to be about 2 years old and is believed to be a Lab mix. He is the epitome of all things that make Labs the popular and wonderful companions they are! And Harry agrees he would make THE BEST companion dog with his sweet and easy-going temperament.
He is up-to-date on vaccinations, neutered, micro-chipped and heartworm negative. He has been given a Proheart-6 injection for 6 months of heartworm prevention and is in the northeast and ready to meet you!
Harry's world was turned upside down when he became homeless in the south, but he has such promise and will blossom in his forever home. If you are approved to adopt through SGRR, please contact Cheryl to be considered to adopt Harry. If you are not yet approved, visit our website to fill out an application!
Rescued dogs come with a range of needs - from behavioral to emotional to medical. When approved applicants adopt such dogs, they agree to take on whatever comes with the dog. It is up to YOU to continue the rehabilitation we have begun. This is what it means to rescue.
