Finn - Adoption Pending!

Picture
Finn Is Ready to Find His Heart Person! 💛🐾

How is this handsome Lab still waiting for his forever home? Finn has been patiently waiting for someone to see what we see—a wonderful, loving boy with so much heart to give!

His only quirk? He needs to be your one and only pet. That’s it! Finn is CGC (Canine Good Citizen) certified, proving what a good boy he truly is. He’s smart, well-mannered, and ready to be someone’s devoted best friend.

So, Finn decided to pull out all the stops! 🥰 He dressed up in a Golden Retriever costume, hoping that looking like a Golden might increase his chances of finding his very own heart person. After all, if Finn were a Golden, we’re pretty sure he’d have been adopted in a heartbeat! 😂💛

But Finn doesn’t need to be a Golden to be golden-hearted. He just needs one special person who sees him, believes in him, and gives him the forever home he’s been waiting for.  Could you be Finn’s heart person? ❤️🐾 He’s been waiting so long.

Finn's Story:

At just 1–2 years old, Finn is a happy, affectionate Lab mix whose greatest joy is playing fetch. If there's a tennis ball or soft toy nearby, Finn is in his element! (check out this video!) One of our volunteers recently watched him joyfully retrieve his favorite toy over and over again, his whole body wiggling with excitement and his tail wagging nonstop. He's the kind of dog who will happily bring the toy back, patiently wait for the next throw, and then proudly trot right back to you.

When playtime is over, Finn transforms into an affectionate cuddle bug. He especially loves leaning into his people while proudly carrying one of his beloved toys, soaking up every pet and kind word. He has a gentle mouth when taking treats and thrives on praise and attention from his favorite humans.

Finn didn't have much guidance before coming into rescue, so we gave him the opportunity to learn—and he exceeded every expectation. He graduated training with flying colors, walks beautifully on a leash, knows his commands, and is even a candidate for the AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) certification after adoption. His trainer has generously offered to help his adopter with the transition and continue supporting Finn's success.  Just watch how well Finn walks with his trainer in this video!

While Finn loves people, he would be happiest as the only dog in the home, where he can soak up all the love and attention for himself. He'll thrive with a confident, committed adopter who enjoys continuing his training, playing fetch, and sharing life's adventures with a loyal best friend.  All he's asking for now is a warm bed, a basket of toys, someone to throw them, and a family who will never let him wonder where he belongs again.

Finn is up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, heartworm negative, and neutered. He'll be ready to travel north in mid-September to begin the next—and hopefully final—chapter of his life.

If you are approved to adopt through SGRR, please contact Cheryl to be considered to adopt fabulous Finn.  If you are not yet approved, please visit our website to fill out an application!

Rescued dogs come with a range of needs - from behavioral to emotional to medical.  When approved applicants adopt such dogs, they agree to continue the rehabilitation we have begun.
