Cooper - Adoption Pending!
Cooper is a handsome 6½-year-old Labrador mix with a heart as big as his smile. At 68 pounds, he's the perfect combination of playful energy and gentle companionship. Originally adopted from SGRR about 5 years ago, this wonderful boy is only looking for a new home because his owner is moving out of the country - a heartbreaking decision made out of necessity, not because of anything Cooper has done.
Cooper loves people and is happiest when he's spending time with his family. Whether it's going for a walk, playing fetch in the yard, or simply relaxing by your side after a day of fun, Cooper is always ready to be your best friend.
This sweet boy is well-mannered and has excellent house manners. He's fully housebroken, walks beautifully on a leash, and knows several commands, including sit, stay, heel, and lay down. He gets along well with other dogs and is friendly with everyone he meets. Cooper rarely barks, only letting you know when someone is at the door.
An active home with a fenced yard would be Cooper's dream. He enjoys running and playing and would thrive with an active iadopter who can include him in daily walks, hikes, or outdoor adventures. Like many Labs, Cooper has a strong prey drive and loves chasing squirrels and chipmunks, so he'll need to stay leashed or in a secure yard. His compatibility with cats is unknown.
If you're looking for a loyal, loving companion who is already well-trained and ready to become part of the family, Cooper may be the perfect match. He's ready to trade apartment living for a yard to run in and a family to love forever.
Cooper is up-to-date on vaccinations, micro-chipped, heartworm negative, and neutered. If you are approved to adopt through SGRR, please contact Cheryl to be considered to adopt charismatic Cooper. If you are not yet approved, please visit our website to fill out an application! He is currently living in the NE, ready to be adopted.
Rescued dogs come with a range of needs - from behavioral to emotional to medical. When approved applicants adopt such dogs, they agree to continue the rehabilitation we have begun.
