Ace

Picture
These difficult economic times have caused many pet owners to have to give up their beloved pets. Such was the case with Ace and his sister, Alana.

This handsome 6-year-old Golden Retriever is seeking his new forever home where he can play ball and get lots of snuggle time.  Foster mom shares, "He is very affectionate and sweet to people. He leans in for pets and likes to cuddle if we sit on the floor.  He loves playing ball - retrieves beautifully, drops the ball and waits for the next.  Inside, he wants to carry balls and grumbles at both other dogs if they come close, but Alana just ignores him and takes it anyway, and he doesn’t do anything.  Some tough guy!!  LOL  He barks when someone comes to the door but is quickly quiet, sits promptly, and eliminates efficiently when we take him out.  Mostly Ace loves being with people, is friendly, and rests near where you are after ball-playing together.  He also loves snuggle time, family affection, and lying by a warm fireplace. He is a very handsome guy, not high-strung, and happy with regular short walks."

There are many reasons why Ace would be a wonderful addition to most homes:
  • Ace is a snuggler, he sits on the foster family's laps and cuddles on the couch.
  • He likes to give very soft kisses with the tip of his tongue.
  • He has a very gentle way about him.  When his fosters give him a hard, crunchy cookie and he has to flip it multiple times and let it soften before he will crunch into it.
  • He is very efficient, the fosters take him out and he pees right away.
  • He really loves to play ball.  A chuck-it is the best way to keep him happy.  He definitely needs a yard where he can retrieve.  Watch this video!!
  • He knows where everyone is and always sits in the room with his people.
  • He is a classic golden.

We ask you to inquire to adopt Ace only if you are prepared to be stopped when you're out and about - people won't be able to help themselves from commenting about how stunning he is!  Not only that, but Ace is a sweet, loving, and highly intelligent guy.  Take a look at this video with Ace, Alana, and their foster brother.

Ace is up-to-date on vaccinations, neutered, and negative for heartworm.  He weighs around 65 lbs and is in the northeast and is waiting for you to grab his leash and take him home!  If you are approved to adopt through SGRR, please contact Cheryl to be considered to adopt Ace.  If you are not yet approved, visit our website to fill out an application!

Rescued dogs come with a range of needs - from behavioral to emotional to medical. When approved applicants adopt such dogs, they agree to take on whatever comes with the dog. It is up to YOU to continue the rehabilitation we have begun. This is what it means to rescue.
