SGRR Hikes / Walks

Yes, it is Romeo and he needs a boost off of his ol’ bed!

Feel like a couch potato? In need of some exercise and fresh air? What about an SGRR
Hike ?

Well, keep a look out for a SGRR Hike or Walk to be scheduled and plan to join in for
some fun. Don’t forget your four legged buddy! They would probably drive you if they
could.

The SGRR hikes got started when an SGRR volunteer, Kathy, decided to hold a party
for her golden retriever, Scooter, last February. What better present could anyone give
their dog but a hike and a chance to play with several goldens!!   All dogs should be so
lucky!

All SGRR golden retrievers were invited and their owners were included. The excursion
took place in Manchester. Those that couldn’t’ endure the hike, started the party early
back at Kathy’s house. Everyone enjoyed.   After the party, all dogs were fast asleep
the rest of the day and night!!!

Since Scooter’s party, another hike was scheduled and even more goldens and
volunteers attended. All shared in on a good time.

The gatherings have been so enjoyable, the group has the plans to make this a regular
event.   Everyone has such a great time getting together. Seeing the dogs enjoy the play
time, make it incredibly rewarding.

So, get off the couch or out of bed for those like Romeo and Annie and consider joining
one of the hikes. The next one is Sunday, June 24th. The place to meet is 30 Chilstone
Lane, Manchester, CT and the hike starts at 11:30am. If you can not make it to the hike,
join everyone following the hike at 12:30pm at the same address. The rain date is July

If you can’t make it this coming June, feel free to schedule another walk for others to
attend in your area or at a special park possibly. Your canine friend will love you and
you are sure to enjoy the benefits yourself.
