Sunshine Golden Retriever Rescue, LLC
Making the world a brighter
place, one great dog at a time!
4/15 UPDATE: Monty is 7 month old
sweetheart who is just starting to come
out of his shell. He is 43 pounds of
adorable. Monty's activity level outside
is higher than in. He loves to tear
around the fenced in yard and run
around like a maniac...lol. Once inside
though, his activity level idles down to
moderate or even low. He does have his
wrestling spurts with his foster's other
dogs, but other than that he pretty much
is becoming a couch potato.

We are requiring a fenced yard for
Monty because he still is on the timid
side. If he were to get loose, he would
be very hard to catch since he tends to
"duck and run" when you reach for him.
Monty is housetrained and kept in a
confined area when his foster mom goes
out. He likes to sleep in a confined
space (under the bed) so he may be
getting past the "small spaces" issue.

His foster may try crating him soon.
Monty is getting better on leash, still
clings to his foster while they walk,
doesn't really react to seeing others. He
is great in the car.

He loves to play with other dogs - loves
a good doggie-wrestle! He ignores cats,
unless his foster's other dog starts to
antagonize them - he feels the need to
join in the barking, but doesn't chase.
Monty is a very friendly sweet boy. In
the house he settles down very nicely
and really spends most of the day laying
around.
He likes to follow you room to room, enjoys being around his people. He is still
hand-shy and initially will duck when you reach for him...for this reason he should
never be allowed off leash unless in a fenced in area. The ideal home for Monty will
be a loving, gentle home with a fenced yard and at least one other dog for him to
play with.
